SC&I Alumni Association

The SC&I Alumni Association's mission is to support the students and faculty of the School of Communication and Information at Rutgers University. We also plan events and activities to keep alumni of the school connected with each other and with Rutgers.

JMS Alum-Knights

The publication, Alum-Knights, began in the early 1980s as “The Reporter,” and, then as now, was written and laid out by undergraduate Journalism majors. In the early 1990s, Alum-Knights was born.

Alum-Knights is the product of a three-credit course that involves approximately15-18 students each semester in the fall and spring. It requires each student to write an article about the Department of Journalism and Media Studies (JMS), as it is now called, and to learn desktop-layout programs.

Rutgers Alumni Association

The Rutgers University Alumni Relations website is a good place to start.  From there you can reconnect with old friends and classmates, check out upcoming events, read about what's going on at Rutgers, volunteer for the Alumni Career Network - and much more.

Lost touch with old friends from Rutgers? Try the University's alumni directory.  The Rutgers Alumni DirectoryPlus is a great resource for personal and professional networking and an easy way to keep in touch with old friends.  Registering for access to DirectoryPlus is a security feature to ensure only Rutgers alumni have access to the information.  The alumni directory is only as good as the data you provide.  Help your friends find you - take a moment to update your information!

We are currently in the process of compiling our own Rutgers online MLIS alumni directory. To ensure that we have all your correct personal information, please take a moment to complete an information form so we can be sure our records are accurate and current!

Current Students

Students and alumni can learn from your career experiences and expertise when you share your story. We often receive questions from current and prospective MLIS students. They want to know what our alumni are up to - and where their MLIS degrees have taken them.

Please take a moment to tell us about yourself and where you are now. Submit your story - and you might see it featured on our web site or in our newsletter!

Alumni Career Network

This online service enables alumni and students to give and receive advice, conduct informational interviews, and provide other career assistance. Alumni volunteers are needed to share their career experiences and to act as mentors to students and other alumni. Go to the New Brunswick career center website, click on “Search” and enter “henry” as the password. To seek advice, log on to http://careerservices.rutgers.edu, click on “Alumni,” and click on “Alumni Career Network.”
