Collaborative summer project

In July I participated in the Conversion Analysis Master Class on conversational repair held at the University of York (UK), organized by the Feminist CA Unit. It included fourteen participants from three countries and was co-taught by Gene Lerner (UC Santa Barbara) and Celia Kitzinger (University of York, UK). A group project that emerged out of this class will be developed collaboratively over the coming months. It will draw on data from settings ranging from beauty salons to police stations to family dinners and in several languages including English, Russian, Brazilian Portuguese, and Italian. The picture below is taken by Jenny Mandelbaum, who was one of the participants.
