JMS Graduates Outpace National Employment Trends
Results from a newly released national survey show that Rutgers JMS graduates from 2008 outpaced the national average for finding full-time employment  and in median annual salary. Results from a newly released national survey show that Rutgers JMS graduates from 2008 outpaced the national average for finding full-time employment and in median annual salary. At the national level, 56.3% of journalism and mass communication 2008 graduates found full-time employment in the overall field of communication. The median annual salary nationwide was $30.000. Among Rutgers JMS 2008 graduates, 57.1% found full-time employment in the communication field. The median annual salary for 2008 Rutgers JMS graduates was $32,250. The national survey was conducted by Prof. Lee Becker and colleagues at the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Georgia.
