Internships

Internships and experiential learning opportunities are a great supplement to the traditional academic experience. Internships teach you about fields that interest you, provide excellent hands-on experience, and are a great resume-builder. Today’s job market is highly competitive and employers are seeking graduates who possess the most experience and relevant skills in their fields.

Being a student at the School of Communication and Information places you at an advantage when it comes to internships. SC&I’s interns are highly regarded and are placed into the nation’s top organizations. Rutgers’ prime location means that students regularly get internships in New York City, Washington, D.C., and Philadelphia.

Students at SC&I can take advantage of the “internship board” and e-mail listserv which offer a range of different positions from broadcasting to marketing communications. It’s not rare that SC&I students are offered full-time positions as a result of their internship position at their organization.

SC&I recommend students get involved with an internship typically during their junior and senior years. For more information, click on the links to read more about internships within each department at SC&I.
