IMSI will select 20-30 students for the Fall 2009 Institute. Applicants should be:

• Currently enrolled or recent graduate of an MA or MS Communication or Media Studies Program  (degree backgrounds from other disciplines will be considered)
  
  
• Considering pursuing Ph.D. study in Communication or Media Studies

To apply, complete the application form on this site.  Ask one faculty member familiar with your scholarly abilities to nominate you (faculty should upload a letter of nomination on this website). The deadline for online applications to be completed is June 29th, 2009.  All applications must be completed online. Notices of acceptance will be sent by middle of August, 2009.

IMSI will pay for participants’ expenses for hotel, most meals, and conference materials. In addition, all selected participants will be reimbursed up to $250 for expenses related to transportation to the Institute.
