Title: The Gray Line Between the Right to Privacy and the Public’s Right to Know

In today’s world, the very essence of privacy has all but disappeared.

This presentation describes the developments that led to this breakdown and concludes that politicians, the press and the public would be well-served by learning to live and work constructively within this new environment, rather than debate the pros and cons of an issue that has become moot.

Richard A. Lee is Communications Director of the Hall Institute of Public Policy – New Jersey and a media studies Ph.D. student at SCILS.  Prior to joining the Hall Institute, Rich was a Deputy Director of Communications in the New Jersey Governor's Office.  He began his career as a journalist.
