The Department of Communication offers the following awards and scholarships for undergraduate students:

Communication students interested in being considered for the communicaton scholarships and awards should complete the application associated with that award. Students may apply for more than one Communication scholarship or award.

Steven and Cynthia Magidson Scholarship: for full-time Communication majors who are rising seniors who have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement.   

Todd Hunt Public Service Endowed prize: for full-time Communication majors who are rising seniors, have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement and exemplary involvement and service to more than one group or society.

Hugh Taliaferro Memorial Scholarship: for full-time Communication majors who are rising juniors or seniors, and who demonstrate unusual aptitude in Communication or render exceptional service to the Department or University community.

Julian Breen Memorial Endowed Scholarship : for full-time Communication majors who are rising juniors or seniors, have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement and significant service to the department, the University, and/or the community.

SC&I Alumni Association Endowed Scholarship : for full-time Communication majors who are rising juniors or seniors who demonstrate outstanding academic achievement.

SC&I Scholarship: for full-time Communication majors who are rising juniors or seniors and who have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement and financial need.

DEPARTMENTAL HONORS - To graduate with departmental honors distinction, students must have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.25, and GPA in the major of 3.65.

COMMUNICATION HONORS PROGRAM- for Seniors who have completed their two-semester long thesis project.
