Bio
Bio Text:

A focus on research:

Through diverse opportunities I’ve learned about qualitative and quantitative methodologies, which are both areas of interest. Through interactions with scholars from a variety of disciplines, I have become well-rounded scholar who values collaboration between departments.

Identifying grant funding research is another focus, and I will seek a grant in February 2009.

I enjoy multi-disciplinary research, and actively seek to work with others beyond the communication department. In particular, the areas I am actively seeking future grant funded research in focus on interpersonal communication within an organizational context and will seek to address the following primary issues:

Ø             Computer-Mediated Communication

Ø             Social Interaction

Ø             Relationship Development

A focus on teaching:

My teaching philosophy relates to constructionism, and seeks to find ways for the students to interact with concepts and apply theory to life experiences. Lectures include power-point presentations, interleafed with challenging questions to engage students in classroom discussions.
