Seol Ki is Ph.D candidate in the School of Communication and Information at Rutgers University. She earned her M.A. degree in Communication from Seoul National University. She also has diverse work experiences in government agency and major TV broadcasting networks in South Korea.

Her research interests include online community dynamics, social media use, and online gaming. Her research has been presented at major communication conferences such as ICA, NCA, AEJMC, and IAMCR.
