Here are some weekend highlights:

Friday, October 12
The day's events will be held at The Heldrich Hotel in downtown New Brunswick.

1:00 - 4:30pm
Doctoral Symposium.  Discussants will address the doctoral program’s development and interdisciplinary model, and program alumni will discuss the present and future directions of their research.  Registration is free and open to the public.

4:30 - 5:30pm
New Jersey American Society for Information Science and Technology Distinguished Lecture: Dr.Tefko Saracevic

7:00pm - Midnight
SCILS Alumni Association Reception and Dinner Celebration. Cocktails, dinner, music and dancing, and lots of other fun.  Attendance requires separate registration.

Hotel accommodations at the Heldrich for the night of October 12th are available at the special SCILS rate of $119.00. 

Saturday, October 13
The day's events will be held at the Rutgers Campus Center on College Avenue.

A variety of programs will be held between 10:00am and 8:00pm; here are some highlights:

  • Just Push Play:  Screencasting for Teaching, Training, and Fun (10:00am) 

3:45 - 4:30pm
Plenary Session with featured speaker:  Michael Schudson, Professor of Communication and Adjunct Professor of Sociology at the University of California, San Diego.
