Mr. Magidson has over 30 years of experience in the computer industry. He has served in various senior marketing and senior engineering executive positions in both startup and established organizations. Mr. Magidson was the founding Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Xircom, Inc., an industry leader in mobile networking products, and for Puma Technologies, Inc. the industry’s leading supplier of data synchronization software for the mobile and handheld markets. His areas of specialty include product development analysis, market analysis, marketing communications, advertising and public relations.
As a freelance journalist, Mr. Magidson has had over 50 articles published in both computer trade and business publications including PC Week, PC Magazine, Network Computing, and USA Today. He has also been a speaker and panelist at a variety of computer shows and technical symposia both in the U.S. and Europe.
Mr. Magidson received a B.A. in Journalism from Rutgers University in 1970, and an M.S. in Computer Science from West Coast University in 1979. Now retired from the computer industry, Mr. Magidson lives in Southern California with his wife, Cynde (DC ’72), and is involved in several non-profit community service organizations including Angel Flight (both Mr. Magidson and his wife are licensed pilots), the Rutgers Club of Southern California, the Rubicon Theatre Company (a non-profit equity theatre company in Ventura, CA) and the San Buenaventura Foundation for the Arts. Both Mr. and Mrs. Magidson received a Meritorious Service Award from Rutgers University in 2001.
