Connie Paul

Executive Director of the Central Jersey Regional Library Cooperative

Connie has been the Executive Director of the Central Jersey Regional Library Cooperative for the past seven years.

She served on CJRLC’s Executive Board for seven years before beginning as Director. She is a former English teacher and high school librarian, and currently serves on the Executive Boards of the school media assn (EMAnj), NJLA, the Princeton-Trenton Chapter of SLA, Rutgers SC&I Alumni Assn, and CISSL, the Center for International Scholarship in School Librarianship. Connie is on the ALA Recruitment Assembly and chair of the 2005 Recruitment Forum. She is president-elect of the ICAN section of ASCLA, a division of ALA.

In 2001 she was given the EMAnj President’s Award and in 2002 she was named NJ Library Assn’s Librarian of the Year. Currently she is responsible for two statewide leadership programs, The NJ Academy for Library Leadership (funded by the NJ State Library), and NJLA’s Emerging Leaders program. CJRLC developed and hosts www.becomealibrarian.org. She is the author of “Just Do It! Leadership Training Builds Strong Networks”, American Libraries, October, 2004.
