SC&I Major: Information Technology & Informatics
I expect to graduate: May 2009
Why I chose my SC&I major: I chose Information Technology & Informatics because it was apparent to me that SC&I was at the forefront of not only the technology which is becoming increasingly pervasive in the world today, but also the meaning and impact which these technologies will hold on our lives going forward.
Extracurricular activities: I currently work part time at Abercrombie & Fitch, and I have been involved with student government at Rutgers in the past.
My goals: To graduate with my ITI degree and become a systems designer and analyst in the business world.
What I like about SC&I and Rutgers: SC&I is the most personal experience I have had at Rutgers. I have always been in direct communication with all of my professors, and I've never felt disconnected from any of the activities which SC&I has to offer. Being a SC&I student at Rutgers offers the unique opportunity to find experience related to my major in the greater New York metropolitan area, with plenty of research and internship opportunities offered through SC&I and the university.
Other things I’d like to share with fellow students: Send your professors (relevant) emails constantly - they'll remember who you are, and it'll provide you a chance to clear up things from class. Also, the student lounge is a great place to get work done, especially when the library gets crowded.
