Essay Contest Winners Announced
The results are in! The First Annual SCILS Essay Contest managed by PRSSA is now history and the winners are: Seniors: First place: Alexandria Tom Second place: Shirah Hamor Third place: Molly Hurford Juniors: First place: Kelley McAboy Second place: Katelyn Lurvey Third place: Dave Casterline Sophomores: First place: Christina Cassar Second place: Hillary Levin Third place: Jennifer Bickel This impressive list of talented SCILS students will be honored by Dean Schement at a special "Ask the Dean" town hall meeting on Wednesday, April 29 at 8 p.m. in the SCILS Student Lounge. The field of entries well represented all three classes from sophomores to seniors. The judges did a great job of turning around the submissions in an abbreviated amount of time due to an extension of the deadline. One judge commented, "This was not easy because all the essays were of such high quality. In my opinion they are all winners for taking the time to show their talent, competitive spirit, and support of the School." Special recognition goes to Sara Shull of PRSSA who managed this project with thoughtful planning, diligent oversight and flawless execution. Congratulations to all the winners and participants!
