Library and Information Science Again Receives Top Rankings from US News and World Report

USNWR Badge NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. -- The School of Communication, Information and Library Studies at Rutgers has once again been ranked No. 1 in the school library media specialty by US News and World Report in the magazine's 2010 edition of "America's Best Graduate Schools." SCILS maintained its ranking at No. 6 in the overall rankings of Top Schools offering accredited master's programs in library and information studies.

SCILS ranked highly in several specialty areas:

  • No. 4 in Services for Children and Youth
  • No. 8 in Digital Librarianship
  • No. 9 in Information Systems

The Master in Library and Information Science program has been consistently ranked among the top 10 in the country by US News and World Report for more than two decades.

The US News and World Report rankings are based on ther results of a peer assessment survey, with respondents asked to rate the academic quality of 50 library and information studies programs on a scale of 1 (marginal) to 5 (outstanding). SCILS' program an average assessment score of 4.0.
