That's certainly one
possible interpretation!
The family in the bow huddles
together for strength. The children look protected and content
in the arms of their parents. Look at the mother's protective
arm around her daughter. The stitches in the sail suggest resilience.
It may be battered and torn, but it has survived and will take
them to America.
