*These are trivial questions whose answer will be erased from the board when the class begins.  They will be posed as problems at the end of the hour. For each one that you do correctly, and sign, you will receive 0.5 points of bonus credit.  These can be used to offset academic accidents that may happen to you from time to time.

Converting numbers to letter grades.  The cutpoints are as follows

A+	95
A	90
B+	85
B	80
C+	75
C	70
D+	65
D	60
Failing	Below 60.

However, if the work that I assign proves more difficult than I intend, the cutpoints will be moved down in order to ensure that at least

10%	receive	A or above
40%	receive	some kind of B
not more than 20%		Fail

Negotiating about grades: If you ask me to review the grade assigned to a particular paper or exam, I will consider the whole paper or exam, and your grade may go either up or down.
