If the notion of an absolute hierarchy or single system for organizing what we know--or, more importantly, what we may want to know someday--is antithetical to the electronic milieu; if a multitude of individual arrays of knowledge is more important at this stage of the mode of information than a single organized system, where will scholarship find its common ground?
