Administrative Positions

Director, Center for Communication and Health Issues, 1998-present.  Co-Founder and Director, Communication and Health Issues Partnership for Education and Research (CHI), Rutgers University. Responsible for leading a coalition of fifteen faculty, health educators, health counselors, and graduate students in multiple funded research projects.  ($300,000 current funding.)

Chair, Department of Communication, Rutgers University, and Director, Undergraduate Program in Communication, 1991-1996 Administrative and fiscal officer responsible for a faculty of 21 full-time and twelve part-time faculty, six teaching assistants, 1100 undergraduate majors and pre-majors, and 6,000 student enrollments per year in interpersonal, organizational, intercultural, international, health, speech, telecommunication, mass communication, and public relations.

Inaugural Director, Master's Program in Communication and Information Studies, Rutgers University, 1987-1991. Administrative and fiscal officer responsible for an interdisciplinary masters program with 40 faculty and staff from the Department of Communication, Department of Library and Information Studies, and Department of Journalism and Mass Media; 85 students and four teaching assistants. 

Project Director and Co-Principal Investigator, FIPSE/FICE Projects, School of Communication, Information and Library Studies1984-1887. Administrative and fiscal responsibility for directing faculty from three departments involved in two major grants from the federal  (Fund for the Improvement of Post Secondary Education-FIPSE) and state (Fund for Improvement of College Education-FICE) governments for the education of information professionals, totally $450,000.
