AILA is an affiliate of the American Library Association. It is a membership action group that addresses the library-related needs of American Indians and Alaska Natives. AILA holds business meetings twice a year in conjunction with the American Library Association and publishes the American Indian Libraries Newsletter quarterly. Activities include an American Indian Youth Literature Award, the International Indigenous Librarians Forum, and scholarships for American Indian/Native Alaskan students. Dues for students are $10.
