The Rutgers Association of School Librarians (RASL) was started during the Summer of 2004. It began as a response to the growing confusion about the requirements necessary to be certified as an educational media specialist. Our group aims to provide helpful and timely information to students interested in becoming a school librarian. Formerly known as REMA, we changed our name to RASL to coincide with the name change of the New Jersey Association of School Librarians, formerly EMAnj.
Now we include our active online students and information for children's and youth services librarians.
