- Online version of the book by the same name, originally
published from 1861 to 1880. Contains great costume design plates
from a variety of places and eras. Contains valuable costuming
information as well. This site begins with an excellent commentary of
the strengths and limitations of the book, including the effects of
Victorian era prejudices on it.It also contains links to other related
sites.
