Adrian Empire Home Page
They recreate the European Middle Ages and Renaissance in chapters around the United States, through tournaments and wars using three types of combat - 'live steel', Arts competitions and Bardic competitions.
Amtgard
"Amtgard is a non-profit, non-sectarian group devoted to recreating elements of the medieval, ancient, and fantasy genres." Their site includes their handbook, a list of chapters, and instructions on how to start your own chapter. Thank to Aurelia Mckay for pointing me to this fascinating group
[Blackshire's Company of the Sword]
"Blackshire's Company of the Sword (BCOTS) is a theatrical/historical reenactment group . . . . Blackshire's was founded in early 1987 as a military re-enactment organization specializing in Elizabethan infantry. Since then the group has expanded its activities to include stage shows as well."

"c.1265 is a group with activities based around the year 1265. We are based in the Midlands and focus on the Baron's Revolt led by Simon de Montfort." Most of their website is dedicated to pictures of their various activities.

The Company of Saint Michael
A primarily tournament oriented role play group. Their web site not only contains information about their group but also about tournaments in general.
[DragonsFaire]
A musical group in the Fort Lauderdale, FL area. They perform at Renaissance Faires, schools functions, and more. Audition information is available on their home page.
Guild of St. Michael's North/South
The parent organization for all the military companies at the CA Renaissance Pleasure Faire, Southern Faire (RPFS).
IFGS
The International Fantasy Gaming Society's home page with information on where they have chapters, what their rules are, and more. Those living in the Northeastern part of the United States shouldn't get too excited though - there aren't any chapters out here as of yet!

A LARP that meets and plays in the Buffalo/Rochester areas of New York state (U.S.). Their web site has all the relevant information.

This group sponsors the Olde Worlde Renaissance Faire in CT. Everything you need to know about this group can be found throughout this site.

A personal favorite of mine as I've been the advisor for this group for over two years. Contains information on the group and how to join along with activities and information of interest to the members.
Renaissance Historical Dance Society
"We are a Devonshire (UK) based Historical Dance Group specializing in the performance of; 15th, 16th and 17th Century dances from England and the Continent." They also perform long bow demonstrations, history lectures, and more.
SCA
Useful info on the SCA (Society for Creative Anachronisms), including who and what they are ; and the combat, weapons, and armour used for their role playing. If you are not aware, the SCA, in their own words, "is an international organization dedicated to researching and recreating pre-17th-century European history."
[The Troubadours] The Troubadours - Medieval or Tudor Music played on Historical Musical Instruments
They actually reenact the time periods through their dress as well as the music and instruments they play.
Ye Merrie Greenwood Players
I suspect, though, I could be wrong, that this is the only group in the world that also runs its own Faire. A traveling troupe that performs at various faires, schools, and at their own home faire in Washington State. Many thanks to Scott for letting me know about this fascinating group.
