Students are advised to participate in faculty advising, especially new students and those with questions about graduation requirements. Faculty will provide guidance in making choices that reflect a student’s career goals. Students are also encouraged to become immersed in key communication organizations, making contributions on the local and national level.
Below are some of the general resources needed to succeed while in the Master of Communication and Media (MCM) program. If any additional information is needed or questions arise, please contact Student Services or MCM Program Director, Richard Dool.
MCM Graduate Student Association Listserv
All MCM students are considered to be members of the program's Graduate Student Association (GSA). Meetings/social gatherings are held throughout the year to allow students to develop and foster connections with other students in the department. GSA also sponsors symposiums featuring professionals in the communication and information studies field throughout each semester.
All students in the MCM program are required to join the MCM GSA mailing list. By subscribing to the MCISGSA listserv, MCM students will receive email messages and announcements from the department, faculty, other students and your GSA representatives. To subscribe, visit Comminfo_mcis.
