DCIM Declaration Process and Form

Declaring the Minor

Students may declare for the Digital Communication, Information and Media minor (DCIM) minor after completing one 100-level or one 200-level DCIM course with a grade of C or better. Students, however, are encouraged to contact their academic advisor to confirm the specific requirements for each academic program.

SAS and SC&I students:  Log in to SAS myMajor website to declare the DCIM minor.

SEBS students: Log in to SEBS myMajor website to declare the DCIM minor.

For students of other Rutgers colleges (Business, Engineering, Mason Gross, Nursing, etc.):  Complete the DCIM minor declaration form and submit it to the SC&I Office of Student Services (4 Huntington Street, College Avenue Campus (CAC). 

Eligibility for the Minor

SAS and SC&I Students: SAS and SC&I students are welcome to minor in DCIM regardless of major.

SEBS Students: SEBS students with a SC&I major must have an SEBS minor.  SEBS students with a SEBS major are welcome to minor in DCIM. 

Business, Engineering, Mason Gross, or Nursing Students:  Business, Engineering, Mason Gross, or Nursing students are welcome to minor in DCIM, but are advised to discuss specific options and requirements with an academic adviser. Complete the DCIM minor declaration form and submit it to the SC&I Office of Student Services (Room 214, Huntington Street, College Avenue Campus (CAC).

Certifying the DCIM Minor

All DCIM courses must be completed with a grade of C or better to obtain a certification of completing the DCIM minor. Courses with grades below C will not be counted towards the minor. Additionally, the same courses may not be credited toward the completion of any other major or minor at the School of Communications and Information (SC&I).

Using DCIM Courses Toward Other Requirements

DCIM classes fulfill a variety of core curriculum requirements for SAS and other schools. Please consult Degree Navigator.

DCIM classes will not fulfill requirements towards any SC&I major.
