Shonali Burke, ABC, is an award-winning growth strategist whose unique combination of incisive business acumen, integrated marketing communications expertise and impeccable project management skills helps businesses around the globe bring big ideas to life. She has worked with, among others, the ASPCA (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals), Japan’s Iwate Prefecture, Cirque du Soleil, Cision, AcademyHealth, and Oxfam America.
Burke's multiple awards and recognitions include being named to PRWeek’s “Top 40 Under 40” list of U.S.-based PR pros; the first Indian woman ever to earn this achievement. In 2015, the Association of Women in Communication named her the recipient of its storied “Matrix Award” for her pioneering contributions and service to the industry.
Considered one of the top PR and marketing influencers worldwide, Burke is a sought-after brand ambassador, blogger and speaker. Her work in the area of PR measurement was recognized by the Institute for Public Relations as far back as 2008. In 2009, she created the #measurePR hashtag and Twitter chat, which she still hosts.
In addition to teaching at Rutgers, Burke is Adjunct Faculty at The Johns Hopkins University’s M.A. Communications program, and created the definitive influencer marketing training program for the industry, Traackr’s “Academy of Influencer Marketing.” She also provides group and individual training to PR professionals at The Social PR Virtuoso®, an educational brand owned and operated by her consulting company, Shonali Burke Consulting.
