Student Counselor



Andrew Cangiano joined the SC&I undergraduate advising team in early 2022. He brings a wealth of experience in higher education and deep knowledge of Rutgers, having earned a Bachelor’s degree from the School of Communication & Information and a Master’s Degree from the Graduate School of Education. He has experience guiding students through the lifecycle of their college journey from recruitment to graduation. Prior to Rutgers, he worked as a student services specialist at Union County College, where he advised students and supported them in their transition to 4-year colleges upon earning their associate's degree.  

An enthusiastic and caring advisor, Cangiano enjoys helping students find their passion and guiding them on their path to graduation. In addition to academic advising, he has taught college success courses and is a member of NACADA, the global community for Academic Advisors. He is always looking for opportunities for professional growth and development. In his free time, he enjoys running and basketball, spending time with friends and family, and serving at his church.
