Robyn Caplan is a Researcher at Data & Society, a Student Fellow at NYU’s Information Law Institute, and a doctoral candidate at Rutgers School of Communication and Information under the supervision of Professor Philip Napoli. Her recent research interests include technology and governance, media, data and democracy, and the role of public and private actors as information and data intermediaries. Previously she was a Fellow at the GovLab at NYU, as well as at the School of Communication and Information at Rutgers, and a 2015 Milton Wolf Emerging Scholar for the Center for Global Communication Studies at UPenn, Annenberg. Caplan received her M.A. from NYU in Media, Culture and Communication,and her B.Sc from the University of Toronto.
