Amanda Davalos earned her Bachelor's Degree in Family and Child Studies as well as her Master’s Degree in Counseling with a concentration in Higher Education from Montclair State University. Prior to working at Rutgers, she was an advisor at UNC Charlotte for Pre-Health majors and an Academic Advisor and instructor at the University of South Carolina for Pre-Pharmacy students. Most recently, she worked at the New Jersey Institute of Technology advising all undergraduate majors in the Ying Wu College of Computing. She enjoys getting the opportunity to build relationships with her students during advisement and when she teaches. She’s been lucky enough to build significant and lasting relationships throughout her time in Higher Education.

Davalos is an active member of NACADA and has participated in various professional development opportunities such as LGBTQ+ Safe Zone, Career Champion Training, and Intercultural Training. She enjoys spending time with her family, pets, being outside, and coaching CrossFit.
