Increasingly SC&I is developing research at the boundary of information, communication, new media, apps and technology. This is the area in which there will be huge need in the coming years as health services become increasing focused on individual, family and community based treatment and prevention and social services are delivered in new ways exploiting technological advanced.
To be able to make the most of the energy in this area we would benefit from establishing a make rspace where prototype gadgets such as: health monitors, phone hacks, displays can be assembled for use in research studies and trials.
Amount: The cost of a maker space of this kind – room, fittings, equipment, ongoing technical support – would be $2M, including naming rights.
