Ziad is currently a lecturer at University of California, Santa Barbara, where he teaches in the Communication and the Computer Science departments. His research is in information seeking behavior and social networks. He is working on his dissertation and his advisor is Chirag Shah. He earned a Masters of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Southern California and worked in the semiconductor and computer network industries for over 13 years before switching careers as an academic researcher and teacher - and loving the change!
