JMS Pathways

Within the Journalism and Media Studies major, students must pursue one of three pathways:

  • Creative Media Practice
  • Journalism and Emerging Media
  • Media and Society

Each pathway includes requirements for completing:

  • Foundation courses
  • Courses in Practice and Innovation
  • Courses in Concept and Analysis

Creative Media Practice

To complete the Creative Media Practice pathway, you must successfully pass selections from these course categories.

Foundation Courses (must take one):

Courses in Practice and Innovation (must take two):

Courses in Concept and Analysis (must take two, at least one at the 400 level):

Journalism and Emerging Media

To complete the Journalism and Emerging Media pathway, you must successfully pass selections from these course categories.
