“This is Not a Drill”: Costley White Presents an Exhibition Exploring the Impact of Active Shooter Drills

“This is Not a Drill,” a listening installation that “meditates on the impact and experience of code red drills in an active shooter society” was created by Associate Professor of Journalism and Media Studies Khadijah Costley White. The exhibition will be held in Maplewood, N.J. from April 16 - May 28, 2023.

Digital Asset Management Expert Dione Surdez Celebrates First DAM Stepping Stone Dinner

Dione Surdez is a digital asset management implementation manager and archivist-in-residence for Origami Air Co; a librarian and digital projects manager for LA County Library; and a Continuing and Professional Studies* (CPS) instructor in the Digital Asset Management (DAM) Bronze Certificate program at Rutgers SC&I. Before becoming an instructor, Surdez, who holds a Master of Management in Library and Information Science (MMLIS), earned both the DAM Bronze Certificate and DAM Silver Certificate.

To Kiara Dunston MCM’20, Communication is a “Not a Cookie-Cutter Journey”

As one of the country’s largest student-governed organizations, NSBE’s mission is “to increase the number of culturally responsible black engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally, and positively impact the community." Dunston, who holds a Master of Media and Communication from SC&I and a bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism with a concentration in Sports Management from Hampton University in Hampton, Va., reflected on her journey.
