Marissa Caldwell (she/her/hers) is a Ph.D. Candidate in the Department of Communication, with a focus in Language and Social Interaction. Caldwell's primary research interest is in Conversation Analysis of U.S. political discourse, specifically U.S. Senate confirmation hearing hearings. Her current research focuses on how questions are asked and (not) answered in this context. 

Caldwell teaches Public Speaking and Introduction to Communication & Information Processes courses for the department, while also assisting with other courses as a Teaching Assistant. She is an active member of the Rutgers University Conversation Analysis Lab (RUCAL).
