October 28, Rutgers University Debate Union (RUDU) will host Rikers Debate

Dialogue for Democracy: A Joint Debate Forum between Rutgers University Debate Union and Rikers Debate
Have you ever wanted to participate in the democratic process of electing a winner of a debate? If so, this event is for you! In conjunction with Free Speech Week, we will provide an opportunity for student attendees to examine, through debate and discussion, democratic policies and the democratic process of witnessing free speech, respect toward other points of view, and participating in the democratic process as they elect the winner of this debate.
Rutgers University Debate Union (RUDU) will host Rikers Debate, an organization that educates and trains current and former inmates in the art of debate while incarcerated, to debate a topic pertaining to democratic policies and principles.
When: Tuesday, October 28th 7PM
Where: Rm. 323, SC&I Building
Who: Rutgers University Debate Union (RUDU) and Rikers Debate
What: Participate in the democratic process as you vote for the winner of this debate! Attendee prizes and food will be provided. A representative from The Center for Youth Political Participation’s RU Voting program will also be present to share information regarding voter registration and voter mobilization.
