Rutgers University celebrated the 250th anniversary of its founding on Thursday, Nov. 10. To mark the occasion, SC&I's Department of Journalism and Media Studies (JMS) hosted a panel titled “The Future of Broadcast News and How Rutgers Influenced My Career.”

The presentation featured five JMS alumni:

Rich Edson- Washington Correspondent, FOX News

Mike Emanuel- Congressional Correspondent, FOX News; he covered the Clinton Campaign

Wendy Gillette- Correspondent-At Large, CBS Newspath

T. Sean Herbert- Producer, CBS News

Jessica Kurdali- Director, Talent Acquisition, NBC News

The panelists discussed their experiences covering the 2016 presidential election, provided the audience with suggestions for landing a position in the journalism field, and explained ways Rutgers undergraduates can take advantage of the many opportunities Rutgers offers in order to prepare for an exciting career in journalism.
