In 1994, Lambda Pi Eta gained national recognition when NCA endorsed it, becoming the official honor society for communication students.

The ceremony began with a brief speech by DJ Woo welcoming and congratulating new members. Many thanks were given to the officers for their hard work throughout the year. Student officers explained the history and meanings of Lambda Pi Eta membership. They awarded each new member their official certificate, pin, and gold cord, which they will wear around their neck at the graduation ceremony.

After inducting new members, Mark Beal joined the stage as a guest speaker. Beal gave a motivational speech to inspire inductees to pursue their passions and be consistent with their actions and effort as they navigate their career journey in communication. At the end of the event, inductees enjoyed pizza and mingled with one another and the two faculty members in attendance.
