Hrishikesh is a researcher who explores the intersection of technology, human behavior, and society. His work seeks to investigate how social media platforms influence users’ self-presentation, identity formation, and the spread of misinformation. He is particularly interested in the tension between being genuine and performative online and how artificial intelligence and HCI systems can be leveraged to support authentic self-expression. His research also examines how to calibrate human–AI collaboration in ways that preserve user agency, particularly in learning, writing, critical thinking, and problem-solving contexts.
Hrishikesh aims to incorporate large language models (LLMs) to address key computational social science challenges such as detecting hate speech, mitigating misinformation, and reducing online polarization. He uses a combination of mixed methods, behavioral analysis, data science, and artificial intelligence to study online interactions and develop interventions that encourage healthier digital environments.
Hrishikesh has a background in computer engineering and information science, with research spanning biomedical image classification, social media discourse analysis, and institutional data analytics. He has applied machine learning and generative AI tools to projects involving resume-job matching and health-focused applications. His work has been recognized in research conferences and supported by institutions like Syracuse University and professional experience working at The Washington Post.
