Ali Motamedi, Assistant Professor in the Library and Information Science (LIS) Department at Rutgers University, will debut his new performance Where Language Ends at the International Human Rights Festival (@ihrartmovement) on September 28 in Queens, NYC.

The work blends dance, theater, and pantomime to explore what happens when words fall short. Just as his teaching in information visualization examines how meaning is carried through form, pattern, and representation, this performance extends that inquiry into movement—showing how stories can be conveyed when language alone is not enough.

Featuring three international dancers, each bringing their own immigrant story to the stage, Where Language Ends highlights the intersections of communication, culture, and expression across borders.

Tickets are available at: humanrightsartmovement.org/ihraf-festival-queens
