Jeff
Freedman

Jeff Freedman is a Senior Information Technology and Software Development professional with over 36 years of diverse management and hands-on technical experience in web and software development, database and data warehouse technology, application integration, desktop software and hardware, infrastructure technology, and information security. Jeff has earned an M.S. in Information Technology Leadership (2010) and a B.S. in Computer Science (1986). He earned his Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification in 2018.

For the 17 years prior to joining Rutgers in January of 2019, Freedman held the positions of VP of Technology, Chief Technology Officer, and Chief Information Officer for small technology companies. In these positions, he provided leadership of software development, enterprise data management, product, and technical support, desktop technology, infrastructure, data analytics, and information security. Prior to this, he held software development, development lead, technical project management, and IT Specialist positions at several companies, including Lockheed Martin, ADP, dot-com web development shops, small to mid-size companies in various verticals, and even had his own consulting business for several years.

He has worked in various vertical industries over the years, including Market Research, Telemarketing, Environmental Engineering, Technology Consulting, Financial/Brokerage, Telephony, Defense, Web Application Development, Call Centers, Procurement, and Higher Education.

Freedman currently works as the Director of Information Technology for Software and Web Solutions for the Rutgers University School of Arts and Sciences.
