Prior to starting the doctoral program at SC&I, Matthew Ackerman worked in Emergency Medical Services for several years. With a professional background in healthcare, and academic background in Psychology, Human-Computer Interactions, and Interaction design, his research focus revolves around studying human needs in healthcare and finding technological solutions to those needs.
