The T. Thomas Fortune Cultural Center recognizes and continues the work of Timothy Thomas Fortune, an American orator, civil rights leader, journalist writer, editor, and publisher. He was the editor of the nation’s leading black newspaper The New York Age and the leading economist in the Black community.
On April 10, the Library & Information Science Research Committee will be hosting a symposium titled: Rethinking the Future: People-centered Information and Communication Practices inviting two panels of local activist-scholars who are doing engaged research in and around information and communication infrastructure in the tri-state area (NJ, NY, PA), and one keynote Mariame Kaba.
One of the highlights of the #BeCOMM campaign will be the COMMchella Music Festival which will take place on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at The Yard on the Rutgers College Avenue campus from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. The event will showcase six popular music acts including several that feature current Rutgers communication majors. COMMchella is free for all attendees, including Rutgers University students, faculty, and staff.
