Katherine “Katie” Rothley holds an MLIS and an MA in Counseling from Wayne State University, along with a BA in Fine Arts from Michigan State University. With over a decade of experience in public libraries, she began as a reference librarian in adult services before transitioning to marketing. Katie has led innovative projects such as music videos for Southfield Public Library and developed engaging Instagram accounts for three libraries. She has authored and secured grants for educational playaway tablets and published insights on market research for libraries in the Public Libraries Journal. A recognized speaker, she has presented on library marketing at state conferences and volunteered for the Library Marketing and Communication Conference.
Outside of her professional work, Katie enjoys spending time with her four pets, teaching art classes at local libraries, and reading Sci-Fi/Fantasy and Psychology/Self-Help. She also launched a Library Marketing podcast, which she plans to revive in the future.
