D. Elisabeth Glassco’s area of expertise is in studying the intersections of contemporary media, social movements, politics, and cultural theory and practice, all through the lens of various theoretical and historical frameworks (with an emphasis on otherness as an historical formation of meanings). Her current research efforts address the political culture of conservatism and liberalism's response to those dynamics within the contemporary media environment as well as class and racial representation in contemporary media and politics.
