Kaitlin Montague's career as a librarian in the public library setting sparked her research interests and focus. Her work targets ways to stratify complex information requests to support public librarians and information science professionals in efforts to enhance the public libraries's efficacy as an information organization. Her works seeks to better understand and improve upon the collaborations that public librarians create with organizations within the community, specifically the introduction to social workers in libraries. Montague's faculty advisor is Charles Senteio, who is also a licensed social worker.
