On Monday, October 3 at 7:00 p.m. (ET), Professor Marc Aronson will host a wide-ranging conversation with renowned children’s book publishers Claudia Zoe Bedrick of Enchanted Lion Books and Angus Yuen-Killick of Red Comet Press on what it takes to get international books not written in English into the hands of young American readers.

This fascinating topic is for anyone interested in books and an ideal opportunity for public and school librarians supporting readers

  • that speak and read a variety of languages.
  • have close contacts from around the world.
  • prefer to read books born far from corporate marketing departments.

Angus and Claudia will read books in several languages and take questions about how to publish, translate, and circulate international youth literature.

Are you interested in international youth literature AND love to travel?  Did you know that the SC&I LIS department offers a spring course on international youth literature?  This course, taught by Professor Marc Aronson,  includes an optional trip to the Bologna Bookfair in Bologna, Italy.  For more information, contact Marc Aronson at marc.aronson@rutgers.edu.
