Blain Bradley has joined the Rutgers School of Communication and Information and the Rutgers University Foundation, where he will serve as Assistant Dean for Development at SC&I. He succeeds Rob Eccles.
In his joint role, Bradley said he will leverage his skills and professional background as a fundraiser to support SC&I in numerous ways, while he will also report to the Foundation where he will collaborate with other skilled fundraisers to maximize overall Rutgers University fundraising goals for university advancement.
“Joining SCI and the Foundation at Rutgers has been the highlight of my professional career,” Bradley said. “I say this because I have just finished my MBA and honed my skills as a fundraiser at two major private higher education institutions. It’s now time to take these skills and put them on display while working with incredibly talented faculty members at SC&I to take the school to the next level of academic achievement.”
He added, “Rutgers standing as a top 20 public institution shows that the university invests in the development of their professionals and the school serves as a beacon of knowledge for all of our community members.”

“I'm excited to share that Blain Bradley has joined the team at New Brunswick Development and will be serving as SC&I’s Assistant Dean for Development,” SC&I Interim Dean and Distinguished Professor of Journalism and Media Studies Dafna Lemish said. “Blain has a strong background in development, having previously worked at Seton Hall and Fordham Universities. His most recent role was as associate director of gift planning at Seton Hall. He has experience with soliciting gifts of various sizes and is skilled in estate planning and annual giving, as well as using email, web-based, and social media marketing to connect with alumni and donors.”
In May 2023 Bradley earned a Master of Business Administration with a specialization in marketing from Louisiana State University. He also holds a bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Alabama, where he transferred as a sophomore, having spent his freshman year at Michigan State University.
A New Jersey native, Bradley grew up in Lodi and Wyckoff in Bergen County, and finished high school at Ramapo. He added, “Ramapo is Rutgers football Coach Schiano’s alma mater!”
A huge Jets fan and college football fan, which he said stems from his undergrad years at Alabama, Bradley said he attended a Rutgers football game in 2007. “It was against Cincinnati, it was a great night game, and I and remember it fondly,” he said.
He and his wife Lauren have a daughter who is almost two and a son who is six weeks old. If he can find any spare time, Bradley said he enjoys reading comics (Batman is a favorite) and listening to audiobooks.
“I am looking forward to interacting with the SC&I community, including our students,” Bradley said. “My immediate goal is getting acclimated to our culture here at SC&I and identifying ways to raise funds for projects that can propel the school forward in a number of ways.”
