New Horizons in Children's Book Art: Exploring Global Innovations in Creativity and Storytelling for Young Readers

Join SC&I Associate Professor Marc Aronson online on Thursday, November 14 at 7:00 p.m. (ET) for an inspiring conversation with Claudia Zoe Bedrick, publisher at Brooklyn’s Enchanted Lion Books, and Nicole Simpson, Assistant Curator at the Zimmerli Art Museum. Together, they’ll explore the exciting directions in children’s book art, design, and storytelling—from Korea to Italy and beyond and discuss exciting innovations in storytelling.

Claudia and Nicole will share examples and insights from their work and collections, answering questions on the creative process, the influence of cultural storytelling traditions, and how innovative design captivates young readers worldwide.

Join us to explore the creative forces transforming children’s book art, the captivating storytelling that connects with young readers across cultures, and the art of curating literature for global audiences.

You’ll learn about:

  • Artistic trends shaping children’s book design worldwide.
  • How diverse cultures engage and inspire young readers through storytelling.
  • Insights from top experts in children’s literature and illustration.
