He has taught for SC&I before, he’s teaching here again during the summer of 2017, and, according to CBS News, he “may be the foremost advocate for school-age reading in the country.”

CBS News accompanied Librarian, Ambassador of School Libraries for Scholastic Book Fairs, and SC&I Part-Time Lecturer John Schumacher on his visit to an elementary school in Illinois.

CBS News explained that Schumacher made the trip for the same reason he visits school libraries across the country: to demonstrate his love for reading, and, through his infectious energy, inspire children to read more.
