Fall 2021 Graduate Students Pre-registration Update
Date: April 17, 2021

Graduate Students: Fall 2021 pre-registration begins this coming Monday, April 19, 2021, at 9:00 AM and continues through Tuesday, April 27, 2021. Graduate students can use WebReg to register and the Schedule of Classes to review Fall 2021 course offerings. The WebReg system is unavailable for daily maintenance between 2:01 am and 6:29 am; service resumes daily at 6:30 am.

Jack Bratich Promoted to Full Professor of Journalism and Media Studies

In newly published research, Associate Professor Regina Marchi shows that homemade yard shrines of the Virgin Mary, which can be seen in many Italian American neighborhoods, represent much more than religious faith to their builders and owners. During the first half of the 20th century, they were “markers of homeownership (The American Dream) and cultural identity,” Marchi said.

SC&I Students Help WRSU Rutgers Radio Earn Intercollegiate Broadcasting System Awards

The Intercollegiate Broadcasting System held its 81st Annual Conference virtually from March 2-6, 2021, and thousands of students from more than 75 schools participated. WRSU Rutgers Radio, one of the oldest college radio stations in the nation, was named a finalist in five categories and won awards in the News, On-Air, and Online categories.

New SC&I Research Shows Brands How to Earn Loyalty from Gen Z
Date: April 13, 2021

In a survey of 500 Gen Zers ages 13 to 24, Beal found that 86% of Gen Zers “conduct research on a brand before purchasing a product to learn if the brand is purposeful and contributes to a better society.”

Assistant Professor of Professional Practice Mark Beal’s new research focus is on how Gen Z, the “purpose generation,” chooses the brands they are loyal to.
